1. Introduction
Opening a Bet365 account means more than signing up – it’s a binding agreement. These general Terms form the basis for using the site, even if some products like Casino or Poker have extra rules. If you don’t agree with what’s written here, it’s better not to register at all.
2. Who We Are
Bet365 operates under Hillside (Sports) ENC and Hillside (Gaming) ENC. Both hold full licences from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), meaning we run legally under strict international standards. That licence ensures fairness, regular audits, and proper protection for every player.
3. Changes to Terms and Services
Rules and technology change. When they do, these Terms will be updated. If a major change affects your rights, you’ll be asked to accept it. Don’t agree? You can close your account. We may also adjust or temporarily pause services for technical or security reasons, and while we aim to keep disruptions short, we can’t take responsibility for every delay.
4. Account Eligibility & Registration
You need an approved account to bet. Players must be 18 or older and legally allowed to gamble in their region. One account per person – no exceptions. Attempts to open multiple accounts or bypass restrictions will result in closure. If you’ve self-excluded or been banned, you can’t register again until that period ends.
5. Account Opening
When you sign up, you must provide accurate personal details. This includes your name, address, and payment information. If anything changes later, it’s your responsibility to update it. Bet365 can refuse registration if details are false or incomplete.
6. Account Verification
We check your identity, age, and financial details to meet legal requirements. Usually, verification becomes mandatory once your total deposits hit £1,700, but we may ask for checks earlier. If an underage account is found, it will be closed, funds refunded, and bets cancelled. Until verification is complete, you may not be able to withdraw money. Some of this data may be shared with fraud prevention agencies and regulators.
7. Account Security
You’re responsible for keeping your login safe. Use strong passwords, don’t share your credentials, and disable biometric login if you suspect misuse. Any action taken while logged into your account is considered yours. You can check your balance and past transactions anytime to spot irregularities.
8. Duplicate Accounts
Each person can only have one account. If we find duplicates, they will be closed without notice. Bonuses and winnings linked to extra accounts will be void, and unsettled bets may be cancelled.
9. Dormant Accounts
Accounts with no activity for 12 months are considered dormant. If your balance is zero, we may close it. If money remains, we’ll try to contact you. After 30 more days without activity, a monthly fee of £2 or 5% of the balance will apply until it’s withdrawn, spent, or the account is reactivated.
10. Deposits, Currency Exchange & Fund Protection
You can only bet with deposited funds from accounts in your name. Deposits and winnings are held in separate accounts for security. No interest is paid on balances. Once you select a currency, all transactions must be in that currency.
11. Withdrawals
Withdrawals are processed only if deposits are cleared and verification is complete. We won’t release funds if there are fraud concerns or regulatory blocks. Money can only be withdrawn to accounts in your name, usually via the same method used for deposits. No daily withdrawal limit applies, though some payment methods have their own limits. Maximum winnings rules also apply.
12. Placing Transactions & Confirmation
We may decline or adjust a bet before it’s confirmed. Bets can’t be cancelled after placement. A unique transaction code confirms a valid bet; without it, the bet won’t stand.
13. Promotions, Bonuses & Offers
Promotional deals may involve free bets or cashback rewards. Each bonus can only be claimed once per individual. Bet365 reserves the right to change or cancel any bonus at any moment. Certain players might be excluded from receiving bonuses if responsible gambling rules apply to their account.
14. Transaction Settlement & Payouts
Winnings are settled using the odds accepted when you placed the bet. There’s a cap on maximum payouts. Funds are credited to your account unless bets are voided due to fraud, match-fixing, or similar violations. Identical bets placed by one player or a group can be cancelled. In-play bets made after a key game event may also be void. Players are responsible for declaring winnings for tax purposes if required by law.
15. Sports & Special Event Betting
We only take bets on listed events. Official results determine payouts. If a start time changes, bets usually stand unless otherwise stated in specific rules.
16. Prohibited Activities
You can only use Bet365 for legal gambling. Activities like fraud, cheating, insider betting, using VPNs to bypass restrictions, depositing money without gambling intent, exploiting errors or bots, creating multiple accounts for bonuses, or abusing staff will lead to suspension or closure. Bets may be voided and funds withheld. Serious violations may be reported to authorities.
17. Account Suspension, Limitation & Closure
We can suspend or close your account anytime. If we suspect prohibited activity, we’ll investigate and restrict access during the review. If no wrongdoing is found, restrictions are lifted. If misconduct is confirmed, the account is closed permanently, winnings may be withheld, and authorities may be notified. Non-fraud closures result in balance refunds.
18. Closing Your Account
You can close your account anytime through the Account Closure page. Negative balances must be repaid before closure. Once closed, you lose access to funds, bonuses, and unsettled bets.
19. Your Equipment
Your device and internet connection affect how Bet365 performs. If your equipment is outdated or your connection is unstable, it may cause delays or errors during betting. It’s your responsibility to keep your hardware and network up to standard.
20. Software and Technology
When you use Bet365, you get a personal, non-transferable licence for our software. You can’t copy, modify, bypass security, or exploit it. Errors or service interruptions may happen, and while we aim to fix them quickly, Bet365 isn’t liable for any resulting losses.
21. Third-Party Content
Our platform may include links or content from other websites. We aren’t responsible for their material or services. Links don’t mean endorsement or guarantee of accuracy.
22. Malfunctions, Errors, and Interruptions
We strive to keep services running smoothly but can’t promise they’ll be error-free. Technical faults may void bets, suspend events, or require us to adjust payouts to correct odds. Bets placed after an event has started, unless allowed, can also be voided. If major issues occur, we may refund stakes or restore interrupted games where possible.
23. Our Liability to You
Bet365 isn’t liable for unexpected or indirect losses, including business-related damages or network failures outside our control. We also aren’t responsible for misuse of responsible gambling tools. Liability is limited to the larger of:
- The stake of the affected bet;
- The misplaced amount;
- £8,400 for any other valid claim.
24. Your Responsibility to Us
If you owe Bet365 money or cause losses through prohibited actions, we may deduct the amount from your account balance. In serious cases, legal action may also be taken to recover outstanding funds.
25. Responsible Gambling
We provide tools to help manage gambling safely, such as deposit limits, self-exclusion, and time-out options. Players should not attempt to bypass these protections by opening new accounts or other means. Responsible gambling is a shared responsibility.
26. Intellectual Property Rights
All software, content, and trademarks on Bet365 are legally protected. Users cannot copy, share, or misuse this material. Any breach of these rights can lead to account closure and potential legal action.
27. Privacy and Cookies
Your personal information is handled according to our Privacy Policy, which explains how data is collected and used. Cookie use is described in our Cookies Policy, helping to improve site performance and personalise your experience.
28. Other Legal Terms
If we don’t immediately act after a breach of these terms, it doesn’t mean we waive our rights. Bet365 can transfer its rights or obligations under these terms without prior notice. If you disagree with such changes, you may close your account. Accounts are personal and cannot be transferred. We communicate using the contact details in your account.
29. Complaints, Disputes & Governing Law
If you have a complaint, start with Bet365’s internal complaints process. If the issue isn’t resolved, you can escalate it to eCOGRA or the Malta Gaming Authority for independent review. These Terms are governed by Maltese law but also comply with UK consumer protections. In case of conflicting translations, the English version prevails.
